Biodiversity Conservation Officer

Pacifique NSHIMIYIMANA was born and raised in Nyange Sector, Musanze District, in the Northern Province of Rwanda. His passion for wildlife conservation led him to pursue a Diploma in Wildlife Management from RP-Kitabi College, graduating in 2019. Currently, he is advanced his education in Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the Protestant University of Rwanda, aiming to earn a Bachelor's degree.
Pacifique has gained significant experience in conservation through his work with various organizations. In 2018, he worked for the International Crane Foundation to assess the feasibility of ecosystem-based management for Rugezi Marshland in Burera and Gicumbi districts- Rwanda. He later served as a research assistant at Karisoke Research Center and spent more than two years as a volunteer in environmental conservation education with Conservation Heritage-Turambe. His dedication continued with over two years with Nyungwe Management Company Ltd at Nyungwe National Park as a Primate Habituation Tracker and Monitor, contributing to making the park’s primates accessible to tourists.
In February 2024, Pacifique returned to Conservation Heritage-Turambe as a Conservation Education Coordinator, where he continues to promote environmental awareness. His hobbies include biking, playing volleyball, birdwatching, drawing, painting, and reading environmental conservation reports. Pacifique is deeply passionate about biodiversity conservation and strives to use his expertise to protect and preserve the earth’s wildlife.

Education

Diploma in Wildlife Management from RP-Kitabi College, graduating in 2019. Currently, he is advanced his education in Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the Protestant University of Rwanda, aiming to earn a Bachelor's degree.
