Our local birdwatching and community tours aims to empower local guides and to promote conservation trough birdwatching and citizen science. Engage in our local tours hosted by local guides and explore the natural beauty of Rwanda as you interact with the local communities and learn more about the history, culture and conservation history of rwanda as a tool to help us to achieve wildlife and community conservation. Several tours that are offered by our local guides include: birding excursions, nature walks, community based tourism experience and so forth.

Rugezi Wetland

Rugezi Wetland

One of Rwanda's most important wetlands, home to the endangered Grauer's Swamp Warbler and other specialized species.

  • Key Species: Grauer's Swamp Warbler, Carruthers's Cisticola, White-collared Oliveback
  • Best Time to Visit: Year-round
  • Difficulty: Moderate
Nyungwe Forest

Nyungwe National Park

A pristine montane rainforest hosting 310 bird species, including 27 Albertine Rift endemics.

  • Key Species: Red-collared Babbler, Rockefeller's Sunbird, Handsome Francolin
  • Best Time to Visit: Dry seasons (June-August, December-February)
  • Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging
Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park

Savanna, woodland, and wetland habitats with over 500 bird species, including many raptors and waterbirds.

  • Key Species: Shoebill, Papyrus Gonolek, African Fish Eagle
  • Best Time to Visit: Dry season (June-September)
  • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park

Famous for mountain gorillas, this park also offers excellent high-altitude birding with several Albertine Rift endemics.

  • Key Species: Rwenzori Turaco, Dusky Crimsonwing, Archer's Ground Robin
  • Best Time to Visit: Dry seasons (December-February, June-September)
  • Difficulty: Challenging
